I am a Librarian; I am an
Information Professional.
I
am the Manager, ipl2 Reference Services for Drexel University (formerly The
Internet Public Library). I received my
Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the iSchool at Drexel
University as a distance student. I was previously
the Researcher in Distance Education with the Internet Public Library for Florida
State University.
Currently, I am pursuing my Doctorate of
Professional Studies in Information Management at Syracuse University, School
of Information Studies. This program
offers online, blended, and brief residency
course formats providing unique opportunities to more clearly focus on my
research interests, while also building a solid foundation for advanced levels
of research, and developing competencies in program evaluation research methods
to further pursue my research interests.
My distance learning experience, coupled with my roles with Drexel University, Florida State University and The Internet Public Library have exposed me to continuous interaction in virtual environments. From this varied and virtual collaborative environment, my research interests have emerged in a unique way, related to the variety of distance learning interactions that I have been exposed to and worked in.
My research interests include comparisons of asynchronous, synchronous and hybrid delivery in distance learning environments, primarily at the Master’s level. I am uniquely positioned in my job and current educational program to observe and participate in collaboration in each of these environments. This enables me to identify effective academic and library instruction in the distance learning environment at the Master’s level.
